Shiatsu is an ancient healing art and derived from oriental medicine. In the middle of the 20th century, Shiatsu became recognised as a therapy in its own right.

Shiatsu is a Japanese word that means 'finger pressure'. It is based on the philosophy of Yin and Yang, the five elements and the flow of energy (ki). It is often described as acupuncture without the needles.

During the treatment the client is asked to wear loose clothing. The treatment takes place a ground level on a futon.
